Goldfinch in the garden

This beautiful goldfinch was singing away in the garden yesterday. I'm a little worried that the small, lightly-speckled, greyish eggshell I found by the back door may have been his.

Home for rent

Was walking the dog with Jon at Milton Country Park and he noticed this little hammock in the reeds. I think it must be a reed or sedge warbler nest. It doesn't look occupied, but I'll keep a lookout to see if anyone moves in over the next few weeks.

Since we got the new puppy it's given me an excuse to get out and about a lot more than usual and I love it!

It's great to have an excuse to get outside and get some exercise, have a look around and take pictures again, which I'd stopped doing over the last year or so.

It's also impossible to go for a walk with a puppy without saying hello to absolutely everyone you meet and so far they've all been lovely people and most of the dogs have been patient with little Rory.

So hopefully more posts from now on!

A Belated New Year's Resolution

After such a dreadful year, with my Dad being poorly and difficult times at work, it was wonderful to have such a lovely weekend away with the family at the end of 2011

We stayed at the fabulous Blakeney Hotel - definitely a fantastic place to stay if you need to be looked after!

So 2012 is here and although it might be difficult over the next few months, it's not been too bad so far, I'm keeping my chin up and looking to the horizon. Happy New Year!
